 FAQs

  • We currently provide psychiatric care throughout the states of Oregon and Washington, for independent adults aged 18 and over, including expertise in gender-affirming care.

  • Care Nimble is working to offer in-network coverage with multiple insurers. Your clients can check their eligibility for in-network coverage directly with their insurance plan, as part of their Care Nimble registration process, or in their Care Nimble Member Dashboard.

If their insurance provider is not currently in-network with Care Nimble, they may have other payment options to cover some or all of the costs of their Care Nimble services:

    • We accept HSA or FSA cards as a primary payment method.

    • We can provide an itemized invoice (superbill) that can be submitted for HSA or FSA reimbursement, or submitted to their health insurance carrier for reimbursement of an out-of-network claim.

If they need help submitting a claim, using their HSA or FSA funds, or have questions about reimbursement, they can contact their insurance provider

Any charges for health plan cost sharing, such as deductibles, copays, or co-insurance, are the member’s financial responsibility. They can see their insurance provider for details.

  • Prescription costs are not included in a Care Nimble membership, but prescription costs are generally covered by insurance, even when Care Nimble isn’t in network.

We always work to provide patients with the lowest-cost, effective medication options. With that in mind, we emphasize lower cost, non-brand name prescription options, and “$5 Formulary” medications whenever appropriate.

  • Our board-certified psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners provide care for a wide range of mental health conditions, including:

Depression: Living with depression can feel overwhelming, affecting mood, sleep, appetite, and overall enjoyment of life. Our providers work closely with patients to find an effective treatment approach that helps restore their well-being.

Anxiety Disorders: Whether patients are experiencing constant worry (Generalized Anxiety Disorder), intense social anxiety, panic attacks, or obsessive-compulsive (OCD) symptoms, we offer proven medication options to help them regain control and peace of mind.

Adult ADHD: ADHD can significantly impact focus, organization, and daily functioning. Our experienced providers can evaluate your client’s symptoms and develop an appropriate treatment plan to help them succeed at work and in life. Note: We offer a number of effective and evidence-based medications for managing ADHD, but do not prescribe controlled substances, including stimulants e.g. Adderall or Ritalin.

Bipolar Disorder: Managing bipolar disorder requires specialized expertise. Our providers stay current with the latest treatment approaches to help stabilize mood fluctuations and prevent future episodes.

Trauma and PTSD: The effects of trauma can be debilitating. We provide evidence-based medication management to help address symptoms like flashbacks, anxiety, and sleep disturbances, supporting patients’ path to recovery.

We currently provide psychiatric care for independent adults aged 18 and over, including expertise in gender-affirming care.

  • We have hundreds of prescription medication options available to help manage symptoms for a wide range of conditions — including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. Some common examples include:

    • SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) like Escitalopram (Lexapro), Sertraline (Zoloft), or Fluoxetine (Prozac).

    • SNRIs (Serotonin & Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors) like
      Duloxetine (Cymbalta) or Desvenlafaxine (Pristiq).

    • Atypical Antipsychotics* like Aripiprazole (Abilify), Olanzapine (Zyprexa), Quetiapine (Seroquel), Ziprasidone (Geodon)

    • Mood stabilizers*, such as lamotrigine, lithium, and depakote

    • Beta blockers, such as Propranolol (Inderal)

We do not prescribe controlled substances, including:

    • Benzodiazepines (e.g. Xanax, Valium, or Klonopin)

    • Stimulants (e.g., Adderall or Concerta)

    • Hallucinogens (e.g., ketamine)

We can prescribe other non-controlled, clinically proven medications and treatment options to support patients.

    * Some prescriptions require ongoing labs or monitoring

  • While we’re able to support a wide range of mental health needs, there are some conditions that require specialized care that we don’t currently offer.

We’re not able to treat persons struggling with primary psychotic disorders, some forms of treatment for specific substance use disorders such as opioid dependence, or insomnia that is not related to an underlying mental health condition.

We also want to be clear about our limitations to ensure everyone receives appropriate care.

We are not currently providing care to:

    • Children or adolescents under 18

    • Individuals with significant cognitive or intellectual disabilities

    • Those requiring specialized geriatric psychiatry care

    • People needing specialized perinatal or postpartum mental health support

Our focus is on delivering excellent care within our areas of expertise while ensuring all patients receive appropriate treatment.

  • We do support members experiencing suicidal thoughts, but we are not a crisis service. If your client is experiencing acute, active suicidality, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Once they are stabilized, we’re here to work with them on ongoing medication management.
